The first time we worked on a car together was in preparation for the trip to Glacier National Park. At first I set her on a simple task, bolt cleaning, but she quickly showed me she had an amazing, natural aptitude for the kind of detailed mechanical work and understanding good auto repair/restoration work required. Before we were done getting the Project GT finished for the trip, she was under the car in the middle of the repair work...even torquing the front A-arm bolts down.
Not only does she have a great deal of experience with writing and the internet, she’s nothing short of brilliant. She is also the person who encouraged me with the website and is one of the major reasons for its success.

Project 351 Hood Hinge Repair
So many of our experiences have started out with something automotive, and Patty’s been a really good sport about it. In this photo, she was helping me remove a hood hinge I bent at the track during the season closer in 2005. This was in preparation for going to the local state fair. We also discovered and repaired another small issue: The front crossmember was disconnected on one side. Click image to enlarge.

Project LX Rear End Tear Down
This was taken in May, 2006 as we were disassembling the rear end in preparation for the gear swap I was going to be perform for the Project LX ‘93 Mustang. Patty was in the process of busting loose the ARP studs holding down the differential bearing retaining caps. Click image to enlarge.
