Project GT
I purchased the Project GT 1995 Mustang in March of 2003 because I needed a reliable commuter. The ‘94-’95 Mustang has my favorite chassis of all time: supple yet controlled, refined and stout, the way it drives is to me: perfection. Not only do I like the way the chassis performs, but I also think the ‘94-’95 Mustang is one of the best-looking cars of all time.
So why then, if I think this car is so perfect, would I make this a project car? Well...it could be faster. The engine is a nice performer, but is really puny and underpowered for the chassis. Obviously, it is a candidate for a project...possibly the perfect project. Just less of one then many other kinds of cars I could get my hands on. That being said, I don’t want to disrupt the very Zen-like and balanced state of the car. So the project will start small and end small. The idea is to provide a powertrain performance level that better compliments this masterpiece of automotive engineering. Of course, what is “small” and “complimentary” depends on your own point of view ;)
