At the end of Chapter 11, I mentioned a change in the Project LX chassis for the purpose of saving on the cost of paint and bodywork. In January 2005 I bought a black 1989 LX Sedan an ex-Florida Highway Patrol car to replace the Medium Shadow Blue Metallic '87 that was the original Project LX Mustang.
The '89 Sedan was like the Project Commuter '87 Sedan an eBay purchase. I thought the cheapest, easiest way to get what I wanted, a black car, would be to buy one in decent shape and toss all the go-fast goodies I'd intended to use with the '87 into it. I quickly found out that while the idea had merit, the car I bought was in such bad shape it would be more effort and money than the car was worth. Consequently, it was gone before the end of the year. However, before I came to that conclusion, the goal of Stage 4 changed from continuing where I'd left off with the '87 to getting the car on the road so I could enjoy it while I recovered the cost involved in the extensive repair and to accumulate the rest of the parts I was going to need to continue on with Project LX.
Check out Chapter 12 for the start of Stage 4 as the next segment of the Project LX epic kicks off!
