Rust and Paint
The Project 351 Mustang is in need of some touch up work (okay, if I wanted it back to new, and I do, it needs a total restoration). Rusteco would seem like the ideal solution, however, for spot rust removal while leaving the original paint in place. Sadly, I didn’t have time to apply the Gel correctly to remove the rust in this circumstance for this article. However, I was able to test its effects on the paint. Click image to enlarge.

Gel Removed
I used a toothbrush on the rust spot in hopes of removing what little rust could be gotten off with such a thin coat of the Gel applied. I wasn’t able to remove much rust, but I was able to safely remove the Gel. For the painted portions that the Gel covered, I simply dipped a soft paper towel in water and softly rubbed the Gel off. As you can see, there weren’t any adverse effects. Click image to enlarge.
