Fox Body Mustang Restoration: 1979-1993

Front Cover

If you've never torn apart a 5.0 Mustang down to the shell, Fox Body Mustang Restoration 1979-1993 is a good introduction to doing so — in fact, as far as I know, it's the only book on the market that will.

Fox Body Mustangs are one of the simplest modern cars to work on, but they're complex enough to throw the inexperienced restorer for a loop. They have parts that break easily and there are areas of the car that can be thoroughly bewildering — and author Jim Smart goes through all of them.

While the information is a little light in some areas and it tends to focus more on modifying a car than restoring one, it still provides good insights into what it takes to tear one down and put it back together. Although I can't vouch for and don't necessarily agree with all of the recommendations here (see the full review for more details), I can say that along with some more research, it will give you what you need to know to get you started on your journey.
