Ford 8.8" Differential Bearing Cap
This photo comes from Chapter 3: Rebuilding the Rear Axle.
It's being used to illustrate the differential bearing cap in a Ford 8.8" rear end common to late model Mustangs like the Survivor, the LX, and the GT. In the caption, it explains the need to keep the bearing caps in the exact position and orientation they came out of the housing from because bearing caps are machined to the housing and misplacing them during reassembly can lead to alignment issues and more.
