Clean Brake Backing Plate

As you can see in the photo, the GreaseMaster cleaned the plate nearly completely and didn't harm the powder coating at all. The only "dirt" left on the plate wouldn't budge...even with denatured alcohol (a great, less destructive brake cleaner as opposed to actual brake cleaner) or soap and water. I eventually used Rusteco and it was able to break up whatever was on the plate and remove it. Photo: Ryan King, 2006.
