Socket Success

After dunking the socket over night, I pulled it out and used a soft nylon bristle bottle (or rifle) brush (the same kind used to clean oil galleys in engine blocks) to brush away the lifted rust crud from the socket's interior before washing it off in the sink. As you can see, it was quite effective removing the rust from the socket AND it didn't harm the chrome at all, if anything, it made it a little shinier (probably due to rubbing it afterwards with a cloth as the Gel is supposed to be effective as a metal polish (not tested in this article).
